Mechanism of Action
KPV exerts its effects by binding to melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R) expressed on immune cells, inhibiting NF-|¨ºB activation and downstream pro-inflammatory cytokine production (TNF-|¨¢, IL-6, IL-1|?). It also acts directly on intestinal epithelial cells, modulating inflammatory signaling independent of receptor binding, which is relevant to gut inflammation and barrier function research.
